Hellraiser: Revival / Before you buy

Should you buy
Hellraiser: Revival?

Check the chases, crafting and saving rules before you decide.

Source-based buying guidance · Checked 12 October 2026 · No story-ending spoilers

The short answer

You fight back.
You still have to survive.

Revival is a single-player, first-person survival-horror game. Expect weapons and supernatural powers alongside puzzles, resource decisions and chase sequences.

Time to finish
About 8–12 hours, according to Saber; your pace may vary.
Offline play
Supported. Saber recommends connecting for patches.

Consider it if…

  • You want a self-contained Hellraiser campaign.
  • You enjoy choosing when to fight, sneak or conserve supplies.
  • Graphic adult horror is part of the appeal.

Think twice if…

  • Forced pursuit is a deal-breaker.
  • You want combat without inventory decisions.
  • You need a horror experience without explicit content.

Our fit guidance, based on Saber’s description and the Saving Content review . This is not our hands-on verdict.

01 / Being chased

“I hate running from something
I can’t fight.”

There are required chase sequences. Owning a weapon does not mean you can fight through every encounter.

What is reported

Saving Content describes pursuits with obstacles, changing routes and a later sequence combining a chase with a puzzle.

What that means for you

If pursuit itself stops you enjoying a game, treat this as a real buying concern. A lower combat difficulty is not evidence that those sequences disappear.

02 / Managing supplies

Your inventory is part of the game.

Expect crafting and equipment decisions, not an unlimited-ammo shooting gallery.

  1. 01

    Find and carry

The review describes limited inventory space and a stash for supplies you cannot carry.

  2. 02

    Use, repair or replace

Melee durability and repair kits matter. Stealth takedowns provide another way through some encounters.

  3. 03

    Make the next item

Collected recipes and materials allow crafting. If keeping track appeals to you, the planner can take care of the arithmetic.

Mechanics described by Saving Content . Our suggestion: use the recipe planner once you start playing.

A useful demo check: notice whether managing supplies feels satisfying or like an interruption. That preference matters more than a general review score.

03 / Losing progress

Difficulty also changes saving.

Choose around the progress you are willing to replay, not just how hard you want combat to be.

Example decision

“I play in short sessions and hate replaying.”

Start by checking Normal’s autosave and manual-save behavior in the demo. Hard removes that automatic safety net; Hellraiser adds token pressure. No mode should be treated as a promise that you can save at any instant.

04 / Story & atmosphere

The appeal comes with sharp edges.

If the early films’ mood is your main attraction, the reviews give you reasons to look closer. They do not agree on how the combat feels.

The attraction

A return to the source material.

GamesRadar+ praises the connection to Barker’s novella and the early films, as well as the Labyrinth and the box’s powers.

GamesRadar+ review

The trade-off

Combat feel is divisive.

GamesRadar+ finds the weapon feedback lacking. Saving Content enjoys the fighting. Read that disagreement as a reason to try the controls yourself.

GamesRadar+ · Saving Content

Content to consider

The game includes graphic violence, body horror, nudity and sexual themes. Saber states there is no streamer mode that alters the game. Do not assume you can switch the explicit material off.

Scott Ellison II enjoyed combat and reported smooth play on an RTX 4080 / i9-13900K system. His settings included DLAA and Frame Generation. This does not establish performance on a minimum-spec PC.

Example decision

“My PC has 8 GB RAM and 60 GB free.”

8 GB matches the minimum memory entry, but falls below the 16 GB recommendation. 60 GB clears the demo’s listed space requirement; the full game needs 20 GB more free space. CPU, GPU and Windows must still be checked separately.
